World Capital Design Valencia 2022: a whole year of design

Valencia is this year’s the World Design Capital 2022. Its candidature, backed by the Associació Valencia Capital del Disseny, saw it become the eighth city to receive the honour.

The decision is made every two years by the World Design Organisation with the goal of shining the spotlight on design and all the possibilities it presents, as well as making it more accessible to the public. We here at Connections By Finds will be following the event very closely, and we’re starting by giving you a taste of some must-sees:

20th Anniversary of nude at Feria Hábitat

This year at Feria Hábitat Valencia, the space set aside for emerging talent (AKA nude) is turning twenty.  This event celebrates the work of young talent and acts as a platform where they can share their work.  Make a note in your calendar: it will take place from September 20 to September 23.

Scenes from the near future

Tachy Mora will be curating the exhibition entitled Escenarios de un futuro cercano (‘Scenes from the near future’) at the Palau del Carmen.  The event will examine what we imagine kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms will look like in the next few years.

Can we really create a home in a shipping container?

You won’t want to miss Eco contenadores  (‘Eco containers’) at World Design Capital Valencia 2022.  The initiative will demonstrate how we can fit everything we need to create a home in a shipping container, a great idea for those who can’t afford a traditional home and want to live somewhere that is environmentally friendly and that can be put together quickly.
