Casa Decor 2024: 3 must-sees

From April 11 to May 23, Casa Decor presents its 59th edition at the Palacio de la Trinidad, a mansion located in the Salamanca district of Madrid. This event offers a unique opportunity to explore a private space that opens to the public for the duration of the event, allowing visitors to glimpse its early 20th-century aristocratic charm. Here are our three must-sees of Casa Decor 2024, one of Spain’s most important interior design fairs, attracting 200 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors annually.

The year of kitchens

This year, kitchens return to the spotlight, coinciding with the biennial Eurocucina event. At Casa Decor 2024, we will see the latest kitchen trends established after lifestyle changes prompted by the pandemic: designs like Dica’s, which provide visual continuity to the home; Santos’s, showcasing its contemporary style (in its first participation at Casa Decor); and modular kitchens designed for outdoor areas.

In&out spaces

The conversation about leveraging outdoor areas and their integration with indoor spaces continues. The Palace gardens will feature ten spacious areas, plus two on the Pavilion’s rooftop, where landscaping projects, outdoor furniture and textiles, bioclimatic pergolas, structural elements, and a wide variety of weather-resistant products and materials will be presented.

Casa Decor 2024 honor award: Francesc Rifé

Interior and industrial designer Francesc Rifé (whom we interviewed in Connections by Finsa) will receive the annual award recognizing a figure in the sector. Rifé’s beginnings are linked to Casa Decor: he opened his own firm in 1994, and in 1997, he made his first appearance at the event through a spatial distribution without partitions. In the following edition, in 1998, he was a pioneer in presenting a contract model that would later be adopted by numerous dining establishments, as seen with his minimalist kitchens, which were a decade ahead of market demand. For this visionary character, Casa Decor acknowledges his 30 years of professional trajectory.
