Do you think that outdoor areas are only made for summer and nice weather? We present three success stories in different habitat typologies that show how you can take advantage of these spaces to make the most of them all year round.
Outdoor common areas that are design and a new world
The Avalon Valdebebas residential building (Madrid), designed by Alfaro-Manrique Atelier, has sought to enhance the value of the areas for community use and access to the building through design strategies in favor of a unitary language that gives logic to the whole, offering a coherent visual narrative for people to enjoy.
The outdoor areas under the arcades and near the swimming pool – decorated with Gama Studio – recreate a shaded beach where wooden platforms fade away at different levels to host different meetings and gatherings.
40.000m2 of green areas to work better
San Fernando Business Park (Madrid) is a project by Hola Arquitectura executed in collaboration with ISG that reformulates the concept of a business city. It achieves this by adding an experience where nature, fountains and rest areas are integrated in indoor and outdoor areas, blurring boundaries.
The botanical and sophisticated boundary between the land and the ocean
This resort hotel located in Costa Adeje (Tenerife), a project by Alfaro-Manrique, generates a boundary between the land and the ocean that accompanies the hotel from the outside.
In the common areas and in the central space of the large meeting and reception area, the boundaries between landscape and architecture are blurred by the vegetation, which is introduced from the outside to the inside.
